Things I Should Start Doing to Become the Best Version of Myself - Part Two

Self-care is not selfish. In our busy everyday life, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters—ourselves. This year, I want to focus on the things that bring ME joy, fulfillment, and peace of mind. It’s not about being perfect but about embracing self-care, going after your passions, and staying committed to growth.

From refiring my confidence and creating hobbies to cherish precious family moments, learning new things, and practicing gratitude, I’m determined to build a life that feels balanced, intentional, and meaningful. Most importantly, I’m ready to set goals and take action, proving to myself that even small steps can lead to amazing progress.

Here’s how I plan to make 2025 a year of self-awareness, intention, growth, and self-love.

Putting Myself First

You can't pour from an empty cup. And choosing and prioritizing yourself is not selfish. In fact, it's the highest form of gift you can give yourself and the people around you. It's not just about being healthy - it's also about feeling good about my own skin. Back in the day, I used to be so thin, and now that I am in my thirties, with 2 kids, working from home, and living a way more comfortable life than before, I am now fat. This transition put a toil on me as I have been bullied and body-shamed a lot of times. But I honestly love myself better now, I woke up one day feeling beautiful and I don't care what they say about me, especially about my physical appearance. But mindset works best when partnered with actions that reflect it, so this year, I’m making time to prioritize things like skincare, haircare, and other small ways to feel confident and refreshed. Positive affirmations help too! Surrounding yourself with people who truly love you will boost that inner confidence.

Cheers to a healthy, glowing you, self!

Enjoying the Moment and Cherishing My Blessings

For the past 3 or more years, I have been in survival mode. Everything is in fast mode. And although I have achieved my goals, I felt tired and burned out. The reason that I am doing all these is because I want to be a hands-on mom, and I know I am failing. My family is my greatest blessing, and I want to be fully present for them. Slowing down and cherishing small, everyday moments is a big part of living a purposeful and intentional life.

This year, I will focus on small progress, slow down, and take things easy, all while enjoying the remaining moments when my kids still love being with them. Because soon enough - they'll have their own lives...

Focusing on Learning and Growth

There’s so much to learn, and I want to keep growing as a person. I am so blessed to be given another chance to continue my studies and I will do my very best to not waste this opportunity.

I’m committed to making learning a lifelong habit.

Practicing Gratitude Daily

Gratitude changes how I see the world. Sometimes, we're complaining so much not realizing how much there is to be grateful for. By taking a few minutes each day to reflect on what I’m thankful for, I hope to keep a positive mindset and stay grounded in what really matters.

Setting Clear Goals and Taking Action

Dreaming big is great, but I know progress comes from action. This year, I have become more specific about my goals and I am breaking them down into smaller, actionable actions. Part of taking action is involving my family - because they are my greatest partners in life. Bigger dreams, the same team is our motto. I have been more transparent with them, especially on ways we can achieve our goals. I want to instill creating habits and staying consistent.  We are focusing on setting clear goals and following through, even if it’s just one small step at a time.

This year, I’m choosing to prioritize myself, my family, and the life I want to build. No more unrealistic expectations, but living with intentional steps toward growth, balance, and joy.

Self-care is not selfish; it’s a way of recharging so I can be my best and give my best to the people and things that truly matter.

From embracing who I am to enjoying and cherishing my blessings, focusing on learning, and turning dreams into actionable goals, I’m ready to make 2025 a year of purpose and progress. It’s not about the phase or perfection but about being present, patient, and celebrating every small success.

Here’s to a year of self-awareness, gratitude, and love—because when we invest in ourselves, everyone around us benefits too. Cheers to becoming our best selves, one intentional moment at a time!
